New Zealand is so ridiculously beautiful, it still renders me speechless. Do I say that a lot? Yes. Is there a reason for such repetition? Well, yeah, because look at the state of it!

Marlborough is one of those regions where, the more I visit it the more I fall in love with it!

It’s amazing how you can hop in the car in New Zealand, and within a relatively small amount of time you can be somewhere that looks completely different, somewhere that offers a different perspective, somewhere that is off the beaten track and yet right at your back doorstep.

That 22 kilometre piece of water that separates the North and South Island can be relentless, it can whip a storm at a moment’s notice and does in fact have a reputation for being downright dangerous. I’ve been out there on a decent swell and my word it’s quite the test of character.

With the borders shut, we Kiwis have an extremely unique opportunity to explore our backyard and I know I’m guilty of thinking that often I need to “get away” to get a break.

My North Island friend, Laura, bought a bar-leaner from the South Island by accident. She needed to drive it home, and I had a couple of days up my sleeve – So we made a travel show out of it!
